I'm almost finished my dream creature! I just have to stuff some components of my design and then sew them together and then I'm done! I also want to unpick some more applique shapes on my left ear and then hand sew them so that they look neater.

This week I started sewing my actual toy. In the two lessons I completed the applique on the ear of my toy (shown in the photo below). I found this extremely challenging because the applique pieces are tiny and there are quite awkward shapes, like the star shape. I am thinking of redoing this part of my creature later on by hand-stitching it so it looks neater.
Today I started to cut out my shapes using my paper patterns. In the picture below, there is my heart and the paper pattern for it which I cut out today.
Today I finished my design idea. I loved this activity and really enjoyed planning out my design - I'm so excited to start my toy!

Completing the calico sample was quite challenging for me because I have never used a sewing machine before. However, once I practiced a few times, I managed to complete the straight stitch, zigzag stitch, corner stitch and curved stitch in the first week of sewing. Today, I managed to applique my geometric shape and circular shape onto my fabric.
